Selection guidance and FAQs
Start with the measurement task
Use the meter specifications when you need a flow value, and check sensor/transmitter compatibility when a control system needs the signal. Flow switches address switching or alarm tasks. A sight-flow indicator is intended for visual observation rather than a quantitative flow reading.
Common model families
The 630 series covers electromagnetic flow measurement. The 615, 616, 617 and 618 families provide different metal-tube instruments, while 640–643 cover variable-area products. The 600 and 601 are flow sensors. These families are not interchangeable; verify medium, range, connections and signals for each model.
Conditions to confirm before selection
Provide the liquid or gas, minimum/normal/maximum flow with units, operating temperature and pressure, pipe and connection sizes, wetted-material requirements, orientation and available space. Specify local display, totalization, alarms or remote signals as needed; verify suitability in each model's documentation.
