Paddlewheel Flow Sensors
The 600 paddlewheel flow sensor generates a velocity-dependent signal as the fluid turns the rotor. It can be paired with a compatible indicator or totalizer. Selection depends on flow velocity, wetted materials, fittings and installation conditions.

SPECIFICATIONS
Technical specifications
| Parameter | Specification | Unit |
|---|---|---|
| Flow velocity range | 0.3–6 | m/s |
| Output frequency | 19 Hz per m/s | |
| Signal amplitude | Approximately 3.3 Vp-p per m/s | |
| Sensor excitation power | Not required; connected displays or converters have separate power requirements | |
| Repeatability | ±0.5% of full scale over 0.3–6 m/s | |
| Materials and temperature | Select sensor head, rotor, shaft, bearing and seal materials and verify their temperature compatibility |
Application and selection notes
- Flow conversion requires the actual pipe inside diameter and calibration data for the fitting.
- Check full-pipe operation, straight runs and free rotor movement; assess maintenance needs for solids or scaling fluids.
- A self-generating sensor does not mean that the complete display or control system needs no power.
