531 Magnetic Level Transmitter

The 531 series magnetic level transmitter provides a two-wire 4–20 mA DC signal for a PLC, indicator or control system. The 531B/531C mount alongside a magnetic level gauge; the 531A is a tank-top version. Options include no display, an analog pointer or an LCD, with HART available in the specified configuration.

How the 531 differs from the 530

The 530 provides resistance output. The 531 includes a converter for a two-wire 4–20 mA DC output. HART is available in the specified version and is not automatically included with every display configuration.

Application and selection notes

The 531 includes a signal converter. Resistance changes inside the sensing element do not mean that the external output is resistance only.
The 531B/531C can be clamped to the float chamber or attached to the flag indicator with screws. Confirm orientation, span and magnetic compatibility.
Probe resolution varies by sensor version. Converter accuracy alone is not the accuracy of the complete level measurement.
Verify thermal protection, ingress protection and hazardous-area suitability for the exact supplied assembly and documentation.
