Float Level Switches with Side- and Top-Mount Configurations

The 500 family uses magnetic coupling for point-level switching. Models 500/501/502/503 are side-mounted, 504 is top-mounted, and 505 has an extended neck. Select the configuration against fluid density, viscosity, connections, temperature and pressure for tank alarms and control.

Technical specifications

ParameterSpecificationUnit
Measurement taskPoint-level switching; not a continuous level measurement
Contact arrangementSPDT
Contact ratingSpecify the load and confirm AC/DC voltage and current ratings for the supplied microswitch configuration
Liquid viscosityLess than 200cP
Switching differential30 ± 3 with the standard rodmm
Process connection500: 1½ in. NPT/PT; 501–504: flange options by model
Pressure configurationStandard: 1.0 MPa; higher-pressure configurations require confirmation
Temperature configurationGeneral configuration below 100°C; higher temperatures require cooling fins and application review

Application and selection notes

  • Keep the cable entry facing down and allow clearance for float movement.
  • For agitation, solids or high temperatures, provide process details so we can assess an external cage or protective cover.
  • Maximum temperature and pressure options are not necessarily available together; use the approved configuration.
